My Story
When I moved to Ridgefield with my first baby, I didn’t know anyone in town. I also found new motherhood to be isolating and an incredibly difficult adjustment; I quickly realized how much I needed support. I pieced together my village of mom friends by attending every meetup I could find and eventually even created my own Facebook group/meetup for moms with babies the same age. Over time, I built an amazing community of wonderful friends, and I know I wouldn’t have made it through that stage without them.
With a background in mental health as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a mom of two, I know how important connection and support are during the early stages of motherhood. My personal experience, combined with my professional background, inspired me to create The Mom Village Project. I want to make it easier for new moms to build their own supportive village of friends and resources and to ask for help, because this stage of life can be challenging enough—and finding your people shouldn’t have to be.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child, and it’s true—motherhood was never meant to be a solo journey. No mom should have to go it alone, because the truth is, it’s not just hard for you—it’s just hard. Building a supportive community can make all the difference, and that’s why we’re here: to help you find your village, lean on others, and navigate this stage together.”
